Cart Drivers wanted for daily rides.

Experienced drivers are asked to contact us. We need you to take visitors for cart rides at De Poort Village when it opens this year. At first we will need drivers with their own carts and horses. In future we hope to have our own horses and build a fleet of replicas of famous vehicles such as the Kapkar, the Spider and "Doctors' Buggy".

De Poort is a new Heritage Village being developed in the heart of the main road , Paarl, close to the N1 Off ramp. It includes a stable, tack room and circular cart track.

The aim of De Poort is to preserve the Wagon making heritage, its cultural history and its associated traditional activities, coupled with upliftment and training in a sustainable manner, to create long term viable business opportunities.

Applicants must have experience of harnessing, driving and maintenance of carts and equipment. They should also have cared for horses and be familiar with gooming and keeping a healthy stable.

Experience of driving for tourists would be desirable.

If you are interested in working with DE POORT VILLAGE please register your interest.

We look forward to welcoming you aboard!

For further information, please contact De Poort office on 021-863-2871 or depoortproj@lando.co.za.

The stables at the Heritage Centre have now been fenced and can be extended in future.
